The Truth about Jesus’ Resurrection - A Reverse Analysis:
The most powerful proof of the resurrection is in the Bible itself. Before Jesus was crucified, he declared many times that He would rise again from death after three days. This is a very provocative declaration that only God could make, and no other religious leader in history has ever done so. If Jesus had not risen from the dead on the third day, then He must have been the greatest liar of all time, and obviously, Christianity would have ceased to exist right on that third day. No one would have ever talked about Jesus and His salvation anymore, and all His followers would have deserted Him forever. However, that wasn’t the case. Jesus indeed rose again on the third day. The big news broke out early on the third day, first to the soldiers who guarded the tomb, then to His disciples and many others. No one can put a stop to the great news to keep it from spreading. These accounts were recorded in the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John).
Note that the high priests and Pharisees asked Pilate to seal the tomb and allow their private soldiers to guard the tomb for at least three days to ensure Jesus’ declaration about His resurrection was dead, along with His body in the tomb. Unfortunately, the resurrection news was spreading too fast, so the Jewish high priests and Pharisees had to bribe the soldiers to lie and say that the disciples had come and stolen the body of Jesus. This was a huge lie to cover up the truth, but no one believed it. During those previous three days, the disciples were scared to death and in hiding. They had no weapons and no special force to accomplish such a theft. It would have been impossible for them to overcome the soldiers and steal the body quietly without detection. To them, Jesus was dead. What would be the motivation for the disciples to steal a rotten body, and where would they hide it from the authorities?
After the resurrection, Jesus met His disciples and showed them the wounds in His hand and side. He stayed with them for 40 days to encourage them to carry the Good News to the ends of the Earth. Of the over 500 other people and the disciples who saw Jesus after the resurrection, most of them were martyred for this Good News because they refused to tell a lie. Some were imprisoned and tortured for the same reason. Today, almost 2,000 years later, the great news is still fresh and alive in the hearts of every Christian. They continue to proclaim the great news to all people, even if it may cost them their lives.
In conjunction with historical records dated by our Lord’s calendar, the calculations in this book pinpoint the years of Jesus’ birth, death, and second coming. Luke 3:23 gave the age of Jesus (the Messiah) when he started his ministry, which is about 30 years old. The Gospels also mention that He attended the annual Holiday/Passover three times during His ministry, which indicates an age around 33 (30+3=33) and is agreed upon by most Bible scholars. Our modern calendar (BC to AD/CE) assumed 1/1/1 AD as Jesus’s first day and used 1 AD as the “ZERO-YEAR REFERENCE.” Therefore, everyone must agree that Jesus was born in 1 AD and died in 33 AD as the Bible indicated, regardless of whether He was actually born 4 years earlier or 40 years later. It made no difference in the calculations of this 70-Week Prophecy because all past historical events had already been adjusted to 1 AD, the birthyear of Jesus’s Calendar, or the Common Era of 1 CE. Note that the Bible did not use any specific calendar dates to indicate any past or future events; it only mentioned the exact number of years between each event. God assigned these math problems for us to solve and believe in His predictions because “numbers don’t lie,” and every event has its own appointed time/year (a time=a year in Daniel) as declared in the Book of Daniel. When we mentioned the events of the years 444 BC, 33 AD or 33 CE, 707, 1967, 1997, and 2042, we understood that these events had been dated back to 1 AD, the “zero-year reference” or the Year of Our Lord (1 AD). Josephus, the first-century-Jewish historian also mentioned the name of Jesus, “who was called the Christ, and his brother was James.” Today, scientists have found evidence about the earthquake and the darkness that happened on the date that Jesus was crucified.
Thus, the resurrection of Jesus Christ was a real event with many undeniable proofs. It proves that Jesus is God, or God in human likeness. He conquered death so that he could give eternal life to all who believe in Him. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” This requires a genuine faith in a person’s heart, not in the mind, with absolute certainty regarding Jesus’ resurrection and His lordship. If you do so, the Holy Spirit will instantly transform you into a new person. Many have experienced that instant transformation, especially those in bondage: from death to eternal life, from darkness to light, from evil to good, from depression to joy, from hate to love, from rejection to acceptance, from slavery to freedom, etc. The Bible reassures in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son. That whoever believes in Him shall not perish but has eternal life.” A third part of the Bible is prophecy. God requires faith, but also gave us prophecies to support our beliefs.” The Bible says in Hebrew 11:6 NIV, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
The Jews wanted their Messiah to rule first and make everything right for all people (good and bad) to live; however, God planned for the Messiah to die first before He could rule over the Earth and make all things right for those who have been redeemed by His blood. If the Messiah had come and ruled the world in 1 AD, by now He would probably be dead at the hands of evil men who can’t live up to His expectations or His standards. God saw everything in the future, and sin had to be eradicated before His Messiah could reign. The only way to eliminate sin is to face it with the penalty of death. Jesus did that to eliminate sin forever. By doing so, Jesus conquered death and gave eternal life to those who believe in Him and His resurrection because He is the eternal God. As Jesus said in John 10:14-18, “I am a good shepherd...I lay down my life for the sheep. No one can take my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” As a result, only those who have been redeemed by His blood can be in His kingdom forever. All sinners and those who refuse His blood will not be able to enter the kingdom of God but will perish forever of their own free will. This was God’s perfect will when He created human beings. He knew ahead of time that He would suffer and die at the hands of men in the process of selecting those who would choose to love Him and His righteous law. The eternal Messiah has set an example for us to live after His image: to love God and love each other. If you haven’t done so, please repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Messiah quickly because time is very short, and we are at the very end of it. The Bible says in John 15:12-14:“This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.”
WORDS FOR NON-CHRISTIANS:
Many people believe that God is a loving and caring God. He will eventually forgive everyone, both the good and the evil. That sounds very good, but it’s not true. Men are spiritually dead to God because Adam ate the forbidden fruit, and his offspring all have evil in their blood. They may live physically for a while, but eventually, death will come and take their souls to a place of eternal separation from God. Sinful souls cannot be with a holy God. They must be washed clean in the blood of His son before they can be with God in His kingdom. He loved us too much and died for our sins on the cross. Without His blood, nothing can wash away our sins. As Jesus said in John 6:54-55 “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.” He was figuratively talking about his death and resurrection and the eternal relationship between God and man through His sacrificed body. This is the way for His love to be channeled through man, and man can relate to God. This is also the only way that God can change human hearts. Indeed, all true believers have experienced that transformation, but non-believers will never understand it.
Jesus the Messiah came to bring true peace and eternal life to those who believe in Him. For those who reject Him, true peace will never come, and at the end is the eternal separation from God, the giver of their souls. After death, the soul will continue to live on forever, but in a horrible place where no one wants to be there.
Jesus the Messiah will come again in 2042, as predicted in Daniel’s 70-Week Prophecy. This time, He will bring everlasting peace to the world. The world in which everyone loves Him and loves each other. This is the world without evil, which He intended to create in the beginning. God is fair and righteous. In the process of creating a perfect world for us to live with Him forever, He gave us all the warnings in advance and the free will to make our own decisions.
John 14:6: “Jesus said, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Therefore, do not let the world tell you that all roads lead to God. It is a lie that will surely cost you your eternal life. If you want to be right with God and receive His free gift of salvation, please pray the simple prayer below. God will hear you, enter your heart from this moment, and transform you into a new person to be born in the Spirit.
Dear God, I was born in sin, and I will never be able to free myself from sin. No matter how many times I try to be good, I always fall short. I do not want to continue to live in this fallen world and perish forever. Thank you for providing me with a perfect way out through Jesus Christ, your son. Please forgive my sins, come into my heart, and transform me into a new person to be born in the Spirit, as you said. From now on, I put my faith and trust in you, so take me and make me your child today. Give me peace and joy in you every day of my life, and when I leave this world, bring me into your eternal kingdom to be with you forever. Thank you for loving me and dying on the cross for all my sins, amen.
Congratulations! You have just been born again by the Holy Spirit, and He is in you at this moment. Read the Bible, seek God in prayer every day of your life, and find a good Christian church to grow up in your faith. You will find peace and happiness in Christ if you put all your trust in Him and follow His teachings. Many Christians still struggle with sin and lack of peace in life because they don’t follow Christ’s teachings wholeheartedly and neglect reading the Bible and praying daily. God said, “Draw near to me, and I will draw near to you.” May God bless you and keep you in His love from now on.
